Turning waste to good use

The Chatsworth farm shop, alongside our many other trading enterprises, is working hard to reduce the amount of packaging used on its products, and also looking at ways of reducing the waste generated by packaging and the transport of goods to the shop. We have also cut by two thirds the number of our warehouses and other stock areas, to streamline the processing of goods, reduce transport requirements and improve our systems for processing waste. A recent innovation has been to pass on all unused or redundant packaging to a local business which is recycling it for their own retail use.
