Picture Library

The Chatsworth picture library holds thousands of images from the Devonshire Collection and Archive. It also includes images of Chatsworth House and its landscape, the Old Master and Inigo Jones drawings, as well as historic photographic images. Images relating to the history of Chatsworth, the Cavendish and Mitford families and Joseph Paxton are also represented.

Digital images can be licensed for publication, use in film and television and for study or research purposes. If the image you need does not yet exist we will be pleased to arrange new photography, at an additional fee.

The picture library is proud to hold images from the Jorge Lewinski archive of photographs of artists in Britain, 1962-1995. If you would like to licence an image from the Lewinski archive you can do so through Bridgeman Images.
