Plan your visit

Groups are most welcome at Chatsworth. We pride ourselves on the service that we offer to group organisers and the travel trade.

Whether you prefer to wander around at your own pace, or take a guided tour - we have a wide range of options available, and can also arrange bespoke packages upon request.

2010 is a very special year for Chatsworth. After two years of intensive work, there is more of the house to see than ever before, including both new and restored spaces and views and spectacular displays of rarely seen treasures, including magnificent jewellery, silver and gold. And in 2010, for the first time, we are able to offer full access to the main visitor route in the house for visitors using wheelchairs, via the new lift and improved access arrangements.

Our calendar of events includes a new Tulip and spring flower festival in the house, and a Russian Christmas. In addition, we have a special exhibition, running until 31 October, which celebrates the 90th birthday of the Dowager Duchess, Deborah Devonshire, the youngest of the famous Mitford sisters, whose life has been a miniature history of the 20th century.

We ask groups of 15 or more to book in advance to benefit from our preferential group rates, and to ensure that a member of our visitor welcome team is available to meet your coach on arrival.

On arrival, your coach will be met by a member of staff who will welcome your group and arrange tickets and payment. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque (made payable to Chatsworth House Trust), and all major credit and debit cards. It is possible for the travel trade to be invoiced after the visit; however this must be agreed in writing prior to the visit.

Photography (for personal use) is welcome in the house. However, we do not permit the use of tripods.
