Pre-school and key stages 1 & 2
Each of the themed options below can be delivered as a tour of the farmyard or a session in the Oak Barn.

New life and growth
An opportunity to handle animals and learn about life processes in animals and|or plants through comparing, contrasting and classifying. We look at the needs for health, nutrition and growth of different species, how they are adapted to their lifestyles and how they change as they grow. This option is ideal for the spring term, and bottle-feeding a lamb or goat kid is included seasonally.

Caring for animals and the environment
This is approached through working with animals or in the surrounding environment, or a combination of both. We look at duty of care to animals, our environment and each other.

Products and Materials
Make the link between the farm and our food by learning about a variety of products that we get from farm animals including cows, sheep, pigs, goats and chickens. We look at the products of eggs, meat and milk and the processes they undergo before they end up on our table, as well as other natural resources such as leather and wool.

Stand Wood Sensory Walk
All resources are provided for this self-guided walk which helps you investigate the woodland environment as it changes through the seasons. Exciting activities explore natural colours, sounds, textures and scents which help to enhance our appreciation of our environment and the natural world.
