In an exceptional year at Chatsworth, visitors can choose from an extensive programme of events offering everything from fairs, new displays and exhibitions, special gourmet occasions, floral workshops and food markets to experience-led discovery days and going behind the scenes.
Treasures from the Vaults: March 14 - October 31
Chatsworth is bringing out a rare selection of treasures from the vaults, including diamonds and colourful jewels, precious gold objects and other rarities to put on display in the brand new North gallery. Never seen before in one collection, and rarely, if ever, displayed to visitors before. The display brings together some fascinating pieces including: the ceremonial Saville Cup; intricate Snuff and Patch boxes; the impressive seven piece Devonshire Parure suite of jewellery and the breathtaking Kniphausen Hawk.

Celebrating Deborah Devonshire: March 14 - October 31
Chatsworth is staging a special six room exhibition in honour of the 90th birthday of Deborah, now Dowager Duchess of Devonshire and the last surviving of the famous Mitford sisters, marking the nine eventful decades of her life and illustrating her many interests and achievements. Fascinating personal material and images, including a selection of her couture dresses, much never seen before, will offer a unique insight into the Dowager Duchess's life and work. Mother's Day: March 14
On this opening day, every Mother will receive a fresh flower upon entrance to the garden, and a complimentary drink at the farmyard to mark this special occasion. Visitors can stroll around the beautiful 105 acre garden, choose from five miles of walks with rare trees, temples, sculptures old and new, streams and ponds. Experience the famous water fountains, take on the challenge of the vast maze, or pay a visit to the sensory, rose or cottage and kitchen gardens.

Easter Eggstravaganza: April 2 - April 11
Whether it's following a trail in the garden or hunting for treasure in the house, craft activities in the barn or a ride on the Chatsworth Eggspress, Chatsworth will be a hive of activity over the Easter holidays in the house, garden and farmyard.

Florabundance Festival: May 1 - May 6
New this year will be a spectacular Tulip festival in the garden, in conjunction with the flower bulb specialist de Jager, running alongside the Florabundance floral celebration in the house. Visitors will also see a special installation of more than 300 ceramic tulips in the garden by Paul Cummins. There will also be a series of themed floral demonstrations and workshops in Chatsworth's 19th century theatre.

International Horse Trials: May 15 & May 16
A weekend of world class sport, with displays, entertainment and stalls to keep the whole family entertained. A spectacular setting for horse trials, with a cross-country course that winds around the beautiful park on the banks of the river Derwent.

Tudor Festival: May 29 - May 31
Experience life in the 16th century as Chatsworth hosts its popular Tudor Festival over the Bank Holiday weekend. The festival will be packed with authentic food, musical entertainment, historical re-enactors and demonstrations all within the stunning setting of Chatsworth's garden, in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.

Food & Drink Festival: 3 & 4 July
This is another chance to sample a mouth watering selection of some of the best food and drink on offer in the region. The two day event features many artisan producers and includes food to enjoy on the day as well as to take home.

Summer Safari: Mid July - August 31
Head to Chatsworth for a summer of fun filled activities for all the family. Country Fair: September 3 - September 5
The Country Fair is one of England's most spectacular annual outdoor events, held in the 1000 acre park on banks of the River Derwent and is the place to go for a taste of the best the countryside has to offer. This spectacular exhibition of contemporary sculpture by leading international sculptors and home-grown UK talents set in the stunning 105-acre Chatsworth garden provides a dramatic juxtaposition of art and nature. Sotheby's Beyond Limits is now firmly established as one of the leading events in the artistic calendar as it enters its fifth year at Chatsworth.

Halloween Hoot: 25 - October 31
Little monsters can enjoy a whole week of terrible treats including pumpkin carving and pumpkin parades, Flight Frights into the Warlock Wood, trails in the garden and house, and spooky crafts in the farmyard to get creative juices flowing.

A Russian Christmas: November 6 - December 23
In 2010, Chatsworth will stage another candlelit Christmas, with a Russian theme on the two lower floors of the house, celebrating the traditions and sights of a cold and sparkly northern winter, and the fabulous glamour and richness of Russian art, folk tales and customs. Alongside these unique displays will be superb seasonal shopping and food, special twilight openings, gourmet dinners and other exciting seasonal events throughout the winter months.
