Discover Chatsworth this May

Water, water everywhere...
Help us make a splash, with our series of spectacular extra water displays on May weekends and for half term week.

Water running over the entire roof of the Cascade House

Water running over the entire roof of the Cascade House

This May, water will pour out of the mouths of stone fish after running over the entire roof of the Cascade House; hidden water jets will catch you by surprise in the floor of the Cascade House and in the glade around the Willow Tree fountain. And finally, the impressive Emperor Fountain will be taken up to double its normal height, around 200ft, sending its plume flying across the Canal Pond. The extra water displays, rarely seen, will be on three times a day each weekend from Saturday 3 May, and throughout half term week, for a short time in sequences starting at 12pm, 2pm and 3pm.

Please note that the number of extra displays is dependent on sufficient water being in the gravity-fed system to feed the additional activity.

Experience the Tudor way of life

Experience the Tudor way of life

Meet the Tudor Travellers, who will entertain and inform you about life, food and work in Tudor times. Listen to Elizabethan music, watch the craft demonstrations and performances, make a ruff, and take a turn in the stocks. And when you need refreshment after walking the Tudor trail, have a bite from the hog roast, or try a themed dish at the restaurant.

Please note that some Tudor entertainment will continue on 27, 28 and 29 May.
