Triumph for Head Gardener

At the RHS Camellia Show in London today, 11 March, Chatsworth's Head Gardener, Ian Webster, recorded one of our best ever results in this annual national show. The Chatsworth camellias won 11 first prizes and numerous second and third prizes. The Duke of Devonshire said: 'I am so proud of this fantastic result for Ian and his garden team. The greenhouses, and their rare and beautiful contents, have been a very important part of the Chatsworth garden since Joseph Paxton's time in the 19th century, and Ian maintains these very high standards today.'
