Luciano Pavarotti forced to pull out of UK dates
Chatsworth shares the disappointment every ticket holder will feel, with the news that the promoters Live Nation have had to cancel Luciano Pavarotti's concert, scheduled to be hosted in the park at Chatsworth on 8 July 2006, due to the singer's ill health. The following is a statement from Live Nation:
Luciano Pavarotti has been forced to pull out of his July concerts in the UK (Glasgow SECC 5 July, Chatsworth House 8 July, Southampton Rose Bowl 12 July, Warwick Castle 15 July).
The tenor suffered a setback last month whilst recovering from surgery performed in New York . The surgery, to correct a painful lower back condition, was pronounced a complete success. However, Mr Pavarotti went on to develop an infection during his stay in hospital.
Luciano Pavarotti's American doctors announced yesterday that it has become necessary for him to undergo further medical treatment and continue a course of intensive physiotherapy throughout July.
Luciano Pavarotti is deeply disappointed by the delay to his recovery and offers an enormous apology to the many fans affected by this announcement. He looks forward to returning to the UK to celebrate his Farewell Tour when appropriate dates can be re-scheduled.
