General information

We have tried to give you as much information as possible about Chatsworth and visiting the estate. Here is some further general information you may find useful.

Banks
The nearest banks are in Bakewell: Royal Bank of Scotland, Nat West, HSBC, Yorkshire Bank and several building societies.

Bicycles
Bicycles can be left at the Lodge to the left of the house entrance, at the discretion of the Lodge Porter in charge.

Lavatories when house closed
Calton Lees Garden Centre is open throughout the year and has a café and lavatories.

Newspapers
Are not sold at Chatsworth. They can be obtained at Edensor Post Office, Pilsley Post Office (both open mornings only) or Baslow Post Office.

Parking in winter
Chatsworth House car park is shut during the closed season. A car park is open all year at Calton Lees.

Petrol
Local petrol stations can be found at Bakewell and Calver.

Post Box and stamps
Stamps are not sold at Chatsworth. Visitors can leave letters and cards at the Lodge for posting.

Telephones
There is a public telephone just below the Information Centre near the house entrance.
