Park Cottage is a Grade II listed 17th Century thatch cottage recently refurbished by the Duchess of Devonshire to provide self-catering holiday accommodation for three people.
Park Cottage came to the Devonshire Estate in 1823 as part of an exchange of land between the 6th Duke of Devonshire, and the Duke of Rutland, and was at that time occupied by an estate labourer.
Set on the edge of the village of Baslow, Park Cottage has its own private walled garden. Guests at Park Cottage are free to walk at any time (with their dogs on a lead) through the kissing gate park access (close to the cottage) through the 1,100 acres of Chatsworth Park which owes much of its appearance to Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.
