Contemporary Chatsworth

The collection at Chatsworth continues to grow in many fascinating ways. The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire are keen collectors of contemporary sculpture, and a growing range of acquisitions and site specific commissions are taking their place in the garden. Edmund de Waal installed his installation of ceramic pots, 'a sounding line' and Kitty North's series of paintings of Chatsworth are on view in the Carriage House restaurant.

Visitors to the house with a particular interest in contemporary work can also enjoy paintings by Lucian Freud, Sean Scully and Endellion Lycett Green, ceramics by Lucie Rie, Hans Coper and Daniel Fisher and sculpture by Allen Jones and Antony Caro.
