Assistant Supervisor
Cavendish Club

An exiting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Assistant Supervisor at The Cavendish Club - a friendly, private club based at The Estate Office, Edensor; serving drinks and food to employees, tenants and members of the Chatsworth sports clubs.

You will support the Supervisor in the efficient running and management of the Club and manage bookings for the adjacent Cavendish Hall, providing a first class customer experience at all times. 

Your duties will include:  ensuring there are adequate staffing levels, monitoring training requirements, supervising evening functions, cash reconciliations and ensuring stock levels are checked and maintained and the end of day close-down. 

Previous supervisory or management experience in a catering environment with   experience of cash handling and ensuring high quality food and hygiene standards is essential.  The ability to work on your own initiative, communicate effectively and motivate a team to work well under pressure is also important.

Experience of handling recruitment, appraisals, and in devising new business ideas is desirable. Applicants must be aged 18 or over as you will be required to serve alcohol. 

Hours of work total 40 per week on a rota basis, working day shifts, late evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the Club – which is currently open Tuesday to Saturday. As such, a flexible approach to work is required.

Kitchen Porters
Full Time

A vacancy has arisen for two new Kitchen Porters to join our friendly Catering team at Chatsworth in the prestigious Carriage House and Cavendish Rooms Restaurants. 

In this role, you will ensure that a clean, hygienic environment is maintained in the kitchen by cleaning all surfaces and maintaining order. You will also provide an adequate supply of clean pans, crockery and cutlery. However, flexibility is essential in this role and you should be willing to help out in other areas of the catering department including assisting the chefs with basic food preparation.

You should be able to work quickly and efficiently and be self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure.

Ideally, you will have a food hygiene certificate with previous experience of working in a busy restaurant kitchen, however this is not essential as full training can be provided.  

These are full time positions ending in January 2017, working 40 hours per week from 9.30am to 6.00pm, five days out of seven on a rota basis which includes weekends.

Customer Service Assistants
Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop and Café

Permanent, fixed term and casual positions are available working single shifts or a combination as detailed  below: 

1) Permanent 8 hours per week working on a Saturday 
2) Permanent 7 hours per week working on a Sunday
3) Fixed term positions from 8 hours to 40 hours per week, beginning in October and ending early January.
4) Casual positions are also available working on an as and when basis.

The roles are varied and interesting and provide the opportunity to work in all customer service areas of the Estate farm shop and café, including: the delicatessen, tills, fish counter, butchery, front of house in the café, kitchen pot wash and food preparation areas. 

All staff are required to be flexible, working additional hours to meet the needs of the business, particularly at busy times of the year. 

No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, you must have excellent customer service skills, be committed, energetic and enjoy working as part of a successful team.

Casual Security Officer

Casual shifts are available within our security team, covering for holidays, absence and other events on an as and when required basis. 

Hours of work will be mostly 12 hour day or night time shifts with occasional shorter shifts available.  Additional work may also be available chaperoning contractors and other external visitors.

Our security officers play an important role in maintaining excellent levels of security, customer service and communication, involving a wide range of people including VIP’s, visitors, staff and the emergency services.  Therefore you must be flexible, able to work in a calm and competent manner both alone and as part of a team, whilst providing an efficient service and warm welcome.

You will be required to cover all tasks required of the security officer including: internal, external and mobile patrols; operating control room equipment and maintaining routine security records.

Previous experience in a similar role covering the following areas would be advantageous: 
monitoring and responding to intruder alarms, fire alarms, local monitoring systems and CCTV; working with computers and maintaining vigilant observations.  Applicants must be prepared to undergo a DBS check and hold a full driving licence.
