Training & Development Manager 

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to retirement.  This is a key role within the HR team, based at Chatsworth with responsibility across the Devonshire group of businesses including Chatsworth, Bolton Abbey Estate, Devonshire Hotels Group and Lismore Castle in Ireland. 

We are proud of what we have achieved through training and you will carry on that success by getting to understand the businesses; developing appropriate training packages, sourcing training, and coaching and mentoring employees, up to a senior level. 

You will also play an important role in maintaining the group core values and contribute towards improving staff engagement. 

Working closely with the Head of Group HR, alongside the HR & Systems Manager and the Health & Safety Manager you will ensure that both development and compliance training are delivered and recorded effectively. 

Management experience and gravitas is essential as you will deliver training to senior groups, covering some important issues, as well as providing occasional support for the Head of Group HR in disciplinary and grievance cases. 

Previous training experience and an appropriate qualification is important, with the ability to develop excellent quality training from off the shelf packages, write sound reports, control budgets and mentor and develop individuals. 

You will be supported by a part time administrator and able to call on assistance from the wider HR team. This is a full time post, generally working Monday to Friday but you should be flexible, prepared to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Cavendish Club Assistant Supervisor
Full or Part-time Applications Considered

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Assistant Supervisor at The Cavendish Club - a friendly, private club based at the Estate Office, Edensor; serving drinks and food to employees, tenants and members of the Chatsworth sport clubs. 

You will support the Supervisor in the efficient running and management of the Club and manage bookings for the adjacent Cavendish Hall, providing a first class customer experience at all times. 

Your duties will include:  ensuring there are adequate staffing levels, monitoring training requirements, supervising evening functions,   cash reconciliations and ensuring stock levels are checked and maintained and the end of day close-down. 

You should have cash handling experience, and an awareness of health and safety and food hygiene standards.  The ability to work on your own initiative, communicate effectively and motivate a team to work well under pressure is also important.   Applicants must be aged 18 or over as you will be required to serve alcohol. 

Hours of work total 40 per week, from 3pm to 11.30pm on a Tuesday to Saturday evening.   Flexibility is essential to cover lunchtime shifts when required. Part-time applications will also be considered.

Swimming Teacher
4 hours per week on a Tuesday

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a swimming teacher to work within a private swimming pool on the Chatsworth Estate one day per week (academic term only).  

Applicants will be enthusiastic, creative and able to provide an enjoyable learning environment to adults and children of all abilities.  This involves the need for patience, diplomacy, imagination, good communication skills and confidence. 

Strong organizational skills are essential as you will be required to undertake 1 hour of general administration each week including lesson planning and evaluation. 

The successful applicant will have a minimum Level 2 Teaching certificate, ideally alongside a RLSS/NPLQ qualification. A current first aid at work certificate would be advantageous. You must be willing to undergo a DBS check.

Hours of work total 4 per week, from 2pm to 6pm on a Tuesday, with flexibility to cover additional lessons.   1 hour of administration each week will also be required.

Casual Catering Assistants
Cavendish Club

The Cavendish club is a friendly private club based at the Estate Office; serving drinks and food to employees, tenants and members of the Chatsworth sport clubs.  

You will help with the smooth operation of the club by working effectively within a small team; serving drinks and snacks from the bar, serving food at tables and supporting the kitchen during busy service. 
 
You must possess great people skills and be happy to maintain the excellent level of customer service enjoyed at the club. Experience of cash handling would be beneficial but is not essential.   Applicants must be aged 18 or over as you will be required to serve alcohol.
 
The Cavendish club opens on a Wednesday and Friday lunchtime, and Tuesday to Saturday evenings. Hours of work are from 10am-3pm when working lunchtime shifts, and 5pm-11pm when working evening shifts.   All work is offered on an as and when required basis.
