Kitchen Assistant
Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop

An enthusiastic, pro-active individual is sought to join our farm shop kitchen on a permanent basis. Working closely with the kitchen and delicatessen team you will maintain our high standards and ensure the smooth operation of the department.

You will work in a busy and varied environment helping to produce sandwiches, salads and prepared meats for sale in our award winning farm shop. Your duties will also include all other aspects of a busy kitchen; preparing ingredients, slicing meats, packing and labelling, pot washing and the morning set up of the deli counter.

Basic cookery skills would be desirable but are not essential as training will be given.

This is a permanent position working 32 hours per week, on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 8.00am and 4.30pm.  Flexibility will be required in order to meet the demands of the farm shop particularly at busy times.

Head Butcher

A rare permanent position has become available for a cheerful and innovative individual to join the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop.

The Estate Farm Shop Butchery has a reputation for delivering exceptional quality meat and poultry alongside our excellent customer service standards.

The Head Butcher will not only be able to maintain our standing at this level but will also supply the inspiration and management abilities to move the butchery forward to a new level of excellence,  developing new and exciting products and meeting customers every more discerning needs and interest in the food on their plate.

You will possess a cheerful character, a ‘can do’ attitude and dynamic and flexible qualities, able to supervise under pressure, remaining calm, seeking solutions and driving forward the development of the department.

You should have the ability to manage staff, budgets, stock, production and rotas effectively and be computer literate to a reasonable level.

You should have the ability to work methodically, quickly and accurately when under pressure without compromising Health & Safety and food hygiene practices.

Hours of work total 42.5 hours per week between 8.00am and 6.30pm from Monday to Friday, working one weekend in four. Due to the nature of this role some aspects are physically demanding.

Visitor Welcome Volunteers

Opportunities are available for enthusiastic, out-going individuals to join our friendly volunteer team here at Chatsworth.

Our volunteers work alongside the Visitor Welcome Team and are key to the customer experience, providing a warm welcome and exceptional customer service to every visitor. 

This is an outdoor, visitor facing role that is ideal for individuals who are reliable, resilient and like to be kept busy. Within your role, you will be responsible for driving access buggies, delivering outstanding customer service and engaging with visitors to provide information about Chatsworth House. 

Working as part of a team is key in this role. We are looking for flexible individuals who enjoy communicating and interacting with the public. Candidates speaking a second language would be at a distinct advantage. 

Alongside the chance to develop new skills, make new friends and gain experience for your C.V, Chatsworth volunteers are also entitled to an estate pass and reasonable travel expenses are reimbursed. 

Ideally volunteers should commit to a minimum of one day a week. However, we can accommodate other requests if required.
