Casual Sandwich Production Assistants

We have positions available at Chatsworth for sandwich production assistants to work on a casual, as and when required basis.

Based on the Chatsworth estate, you will work as part of a small team producing a range of high quality sandwiches, wraps and boxed salads by hand to ensure our customers are able to purchase good quality snacks and sandwiches. 

Although full training will be provided it would be beneficial if you have previous experience working in a food production role or in a similar restaurant kitchen environment. Above all you should have a desire to deliver food of a consistently high quality.

It is essential to have an awareness of food hygiene and health and safety procedures and be able to work quickly and efficiently within set time limits.

Shift patterns will vary to accommodate business needs and will include some 3-4am start times.

Events Site Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an events site co-ordinator to take responsibility for the co-ordination of the infrastructure required for public events at Chatsworth - based in the park, the gardens and the House. Including the installation, take down and safety.

This is an interesting and varied role and you will work closely with third party event providers, ensuring on the ground, safe and smooth delivery of a wide variety of events including: the Christmas markets, bonfire event, outdoor musical events and indoor theatre events.

You will also play a supporting role at the larger Chatsworth events – the Country Fair and the Horse Trials.

Given the complexity of some of these events, you must be a logical thinker and competent project co-ordinator with some experience of the technical issues surrounding on-site delivery.

You should be financially astute with the ability to proactively monitor staff costs, source suppliers and negotiate fees; providing analysis spread sheets.

You will also be a diplomat; able to liaise effectively with both internal and external contacts, providing a seamless delivery.

A qualification in event health and safety is an advantage.

Part Time Assistant Supervisor
Carriage House Restaurant

9.00am to 5.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A new opportunity is available for a part time assistant supervisor responsible for the front of house service within the large self-service Carriage House Restaurant. 

Located within the stable block at Chatsworth, this restaurant offers a wide variety of local and seasonal food and drinks delivered to excellent service standards.  With support from the existing supervisor and food and beverage manager, the successful applicant will ensure these standards are maintained.

Previous success in delivering first class customer service in a large catering and retail business through proactively managing a team is essential, together with the ability to prioritize your own workload, whilst paying attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required.

Proficiency in cash handling and reconciliation alongside awareness of HACCP and health and safety procedures are essential.

The post available is 24 hours per week (as shown above) working from late March to early January each year on a permanent basis.

Bakery Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Estate Farm Shop Bakery

An interesting opportunity is available for a Bakery Assistant within our Estate Farm Shop bakery.  This is a one year fixed term contract covering maternity leave, working 35 hours per week, between 9.00am and 4.30pm - Tuesday to Saturday.

The successful applicant will work within the bakery team, in a busy and varied environment, helping to produce high quality breads, pastries and cakes for sale in our award winning farm shop. Your duties will include all aspects of a busy bakery; weighing ingredients, packaging and labeling breads and cakes, stock rotation, pot washing and some cleaning. You will maintain our current high standards and work to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, it would be an advantage to have basic bakery skills with an awareness of food hygiene and health and safety practices. You should be an enthusiastic individual who can work well within a team.

Two interesting positions have arisen for Assistant Chef/Cooks within the popular Estate Farm Shop Café. 

Under the guidance of the Head Chef, you will add value to the work already carried out by our very successful team. Using the first class produce available within the farm shop you will have the opportunity to introduce new seasonal lines, bringing together innovation and experience, providing excellent meals of a consistently high standard.

Applications will be accepted from qualified chefs, cooks or good home cooks who are quick to learn and well-motivated. Experience is desirable but is not essential as full training will be given. 

Applicants will be committed to the highest health and safety and hygiene standards.

These positions are permanent with the possibility of increased hours to cover holidays. Flexibility is essential, particularly at busy periods. Applications for a 4 day week will be considered.
