Sustainability best practice
One of the ways we support the communities we engage with is through active participation in, and support of, networks designed to share knowledge and inspire action on sustainability best practice.
Currently we are members of the following networks:
Fit for the Future
Fit for the Future is a solution-based network of over 80 member organisations that want to reduce energy bills and better manage environmental impacts.
Green Tourism Business Scheme
Green Tourism Business Scheme is the largest sustainable tourism programme of its kind.
Peak District Environmental Quality Mark (EQM)
The Peak District Environmental Quality Mark (EQM) is a place based environmental quality mark that enables any businesses to demonstrate how they use and enhance sustainable practices.
Improving carbon performance
We have also been helping our tenants get off carbon-intense oil boilers by installing biomass boiler heating systems. In the last 18 months, we have installed 15 of these boilers, saving over 250 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent annually, according to government estimates.
We will continue to look at how we can improve the carbon performance of our tenant properties.
