Two chairs made from reclaimed wood. The wood is roughly worked and has imperfections throughout as a result of its reclaimed nature. Sections of the chair have been painted in tones of green, blue, brown and cream, while some sections have been left unpainted.
The Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek is best known for producing pieces of furniture from scrap wood. These two armchairs were originally produced for the kiosk designed by the artist for the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands, and were later developed for wider production following public demand.
These chairs featured in our Make Yourself Comfortable exhibition.
