The 8th Duke of Devonshire and Duchess Louise were well known for holding extravagant house-parties at Chatsworth, and regularly entertained Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. The Queen was an accomplished photographer, so it is only fitting that she is standing in the group while her camera has a chair to itself.
