Dedicate a beautiful keepsake butterfly in memory of your loved one

Ashgate Hospice’s poignant Butterfly Appeal, sponsored by Graysons Solicitors, offers you the opportunity to remember a loved one with a beautiful handcrafted, stainless steel butterfly. Then from 23 May to 12 June, you are invited to see your butterfly alongside hundreds of others installed at Chatsworth.

Donate for a butterfly

For a suggested donation of £25, you will receive a beautiful butterfly, designed and handcrafted by local sculptor James Sutton. It is yours to treasure in your home or garden as an ongoing tribute and memorial to your loved one. Before it makes its way to you, your butterfly will be part of the stunning display at Chatsworth. Every butterfly on display will represent a loved one being remembered.

You will be able to visit the display during house opening hours from Tuesday 23 May to Monday 12 June. No ticket is required but car parking fees do apply, which go directly to the Chatsworth House Trust, the registered charity responsible for looking after the house, garden, collection and park for the enjoyment of everyone.

Tracie's story

If you’re able to donate for a butterfly today, you will be helping to fund Ashgate’s expert and compassionate care that people like Kim rely on. Sadly, Kim was diagnosed with an aggressive inoperable brain tumour at just 20 years old and spent the last five-and-a-half weeks of her life being cared for at Ashgate Hospice's Inpatient Unit.

Tracie, Kim's mum and butterfly appeal ambassador, has shared her story. Click on the link below to read.
