Learn how to create, carve and print a linocut block during this full-day workshop. Throughout the day you will receive expert guidance on how to create a series of prints, and have access to the Chatsworth Garden during the closed season to inspire your work.
The workshop will include observational drawing techniques, how to prepare lino, safe use of carving tools, mark making, transferring your design on to the lino and printing techniques. You have the opportunity to try your hand at multi-layer reduction printing and exploring different surfaces to print on.
No previous experience is required - our tutor will carefully guide you through each stage of the process. 18+
All materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own tools if you wish.
Tickets include tea and coffee throughout the day and a delicious graze box picnic lunch provided by the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop – please note we will be in touch to confirm your dietary requirements. We recommend wearing old clothes or bringing an apron as printing can get messy! Sturdy footwear is recommended. Part of the session will be outdoors so please bring warm clothing.
Meet at the top garden gates near the Stables at 9.45am ready for a 10am start.
