In July we welcomed a group of budding flower arrangers onto our Gardens Floristry Day. Our skilled florists were on hand to guide them through the day, which started with a tour of the beautiful Chatsworth cutting garden. Not only does this area have some of the best views of the surrounding estate, we also grow an abundance of Peony, Delphinium, Tulips, Roses, Lupin, Phlox and Sweet Pea specifically for cutting throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn months.

As if this wasn’t treat enough, our lovely ladies were then able to cut whatever they liked from the garden and of course filled their trugs to the brim! There were plenty of ooh’s and ah’s as the group made their way through the beautiful garden on a warm sunny day cutting what they liked as they went. As one described it ‘like being a child let loose in a sweet shop!’.

With their trugs bursting with precious flowers, herbs and foliage we made our way back to the Stickyard, our fabulous outdoor education facility, where our expert florists showed the group how to turn their cuttings into a stunning hand tied bouquet.
Our students mastering the spiral technique
Here are some of our lovely students in action. Not only did they learn valuable floristry skills, tips and techniques but they got to take all the flowers home with them too! Many people return to our floral workshops because they enjoyed them so much the first time around, so it’s always lovely to see some familiar faces!
Congratulations to a lovely group who did fabulously well and created some really beautiful designs. We’ve had reports that the flowers were enjoyed well into the future as they adorned kitchen tables, sideboards and window sills at home to the envy of their friends!
A lovely bunch!
This is a great opportunity to learn more about the garden at Chatsworth and develop your floristry skills. Perfect as a gift, or as a treat for yourself.
Includes admission to the house and garden on the day.
