With less than a month to go before autumn half term, preparations have begun for our annual Half term Halloween fun, 26 - 31 October 2013.

There will be fun for all ages in the house, garden and farmyard & adventure playground. While most of the preparations are on paper at this stage, we have a few photos and details to share -

We have several ghoulish items from the collection that will be going on display in the house including a man trap, a 16th century book of spells, and a death mask of the former librarian. Hidden around the house there will also be a trail of pumpkins, highlighting all of the spooky items on the Halloween Trail in the house.

We’re really excited that following the great summer, we’re expecting 6 Giant pumpkins weighing over 100 pounds each to be delivered in the next couple of weeks. Once they arrive, the Chatsworth team will be carving them, along with some more regular sized pumpkins, in time to go on display in the garden. Keep an eye on facebook and twitter for a sneak peek when they arrive.

An example from 2012 - they'll be much larger this year!
There are also lots of exciting things planned at the farmyard this year with our hugely popular Fright Flights, heading up into warlock wood ever day in the run up to Halloween. We’ve also got live snake and spiders, great Halloween crafts, and one or two other spooky tricks & treats up our sleeves. There should be plenty of things for everyone in the family to enjoy.

A little leafy fun
We hope to see you this half term!
