On Tuesday 16 April, Paul Neale, Margaret Pickering and I travelled to the House of Commons to showcase the farm shop at the Derbyshire Food Producers Day. The event was held in collaboration with Derbyshire County Council, to promote local food and drink to some of our country's top decision makers.
We displayed over 300 of our products, all of which are produced on the estate at Chatsworth, and were visited by over 1000 parliamentarians during the day.
Among the guests were David Cameron, Simon Bercow, George Osborne and Patrick McLoughlin, who were all very complimentary.
The day was very successful and, in her closing speech, Margaret Beckett MP said, “Derbyshire has pulled out all the stops and presented by far the best exhibition of its kind that has ever been held here”
Over 250 parliamentarians left with a gift from Chatsworth for their dinner!
