On Thursday 15th July, as part of the Environmental Committee’s initiative to encourage staff onto their bikes, the Duchess led off the first Chatsworth Cycle Ride on a 16 mile route around the estate and surrounding area. All in all, 22 riders from a variety of departments took part in the cycle ride, and after a photo call in front of the house, set off down to the Golden Gates and onto the roads. After torrential rain showers throughout the week, it was a relief to see the sun shining and not a drop of rain insight during the ride. With everyone making it safely back to the Estate Office a good dinner at the Cavendish Club was enjoyed by all. Thanks to everyone who helped make the event a great success and hopefully we’ve inspired a few more people to hop on their bike to work and to get out on the roads around the Estate.
