The event is a celebration of science and innovative in the spirit of the 6th Duke of Devonshire, who inherited Chatsworth 200 years ago. We will be hosting a number of exhibitors, such as Mad Science, with their slime making and dry ice experiments, the National Space Centre, who will be building and launching rockets and allowing visitors to sample space food, and Roger Lovell from Cyclemagic will be joining us to demonstrate how to ride bicycles from years gone by.
Along with the many exhibitors joining us for the long weekend, we are also in the process of writing a new walking tour of the gardens to show off the many great achievements of the partnership between the 6th Duke and his head gardener Joseph Paxton. As we were well and truly spoilt with the weather this April we are keeping a close eye on water levels in the lakes that supply the gravity-fed Emperor Fountain; we hope to play the fountain to full height once daily over the long weekend in celebration.
