Masterplan Project Phase Four
Until November 2017

The final phase of the £32.7-million Masterplan project, which began in 2005, is now underway. A significant progression in the restoration works is the removal of the scaffolding along the East façade in the garden, which visitors saw in 2016. Elsewhere, cleaning and conservation work is taking place on the 6th Duke’s North Wing, the building that runs down to the house entrance. Work continues on the Belvedere, which has proved problematic as the masonry and other repairs are far more extensive than originally identified. It aims to be completed by June 2017, in time for RHS Chatsworth Flower Show.

The project is on course to be completed in November 2017 and once it is finished the house will be beautifully cleaned and conserved, as it would have looked when it was built.
