Plan your learning experience

Whether you're planning a field trip for early years, primary or secondary school pupils or an activity based outing for local community groups, Chatsworth is a wonderful venue for learning.

The house, garden, farmyard and estate are rich in opportunities to create memorable hands-on learning experiences that bring a subject matter to life, whilst also teaching important life skills.

We have a range of curriculum-linked guided learning sessions to choose from that cover a broad range of subjects; from science, maths, technology and history, to art and design and PSHE education.

Our programme is focused on treasures from the Devonshire Collection and the built and natural environment, allowing for the integration of the arts and creativity into STEM based learning: STEM + Art = STEAM.

We also support secondary schools in the delivery of GCSE, AS/A Level and BTEC art and design coursework.

Our team are always happy to adapt sessions to match a specific subject, audience or educational need. Alternatively, we can collaborate with teachers to create bespoke programmes.

As well as delivering courses on site at Chatsworth, our expert education team can provide hands-on outreach learning sessions at your own facility, or via remote methods.

Educational resources

A virtual tour of Chatsworth House is available for classroom based activities, with interpretation and curriculum related features and support.

We also have a wide range of free educational resources covering indoor and outdoor activities that can be undertaken at school or at home.

Our commitment to our shared future

At Chatsworth, we believe that working with our local communities, employees, visitors, suppliers and partners will help us all thrive. We have 10 goals that we have set for the next 10 years, to help us fulfil our core purpose as part of the Devonshire Group. One of these goals is to:

Enable every child in local schools to experience our estates as part of their primary education, reaching every school through physical visits onsite or our virtual presence in schools.
