Caring for animals

Foundation stage | Key stages 12 | Allow 1 hour

Available in spring and summer, Monday through Friday

Join us in the Oak Barn, where pupils can look at and handle a range of small animals, such as guinea pigs, hens and chicks, and learn how we care for them. There will also be an opportunity to bottle feed a lamb or a goat kid.

New life and growth (animal life cycles)

Foundation stage | Key stages 12 | Allow 1 hour

This session encourages pupils to get up close to our animals and learn about their requirements for health, nutrition and growth. With a member of the farmyard team, they will look at the differences and similarities between a range of animals and how they change as they grow. Older groups will also discuss animal reproduction.

Key Stage 1 sessions will take place in the Oak Barn. Key Stage 2 sessions will be delivered as an interactive tour around the farmyard.
