Trainee Butler

A rare opportunity has become available within the private staff of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, based primarily at Chatsworth in Derbyshire.

This is a busy household, doing a great deal of entertaining on both a formal and informal basis and you will learn how to meet, greet and care for a wide range of guests, providing service at five star standards on all occasions.

Experience in the hospitality industry would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

Applicants must be calm and organized, able to provide excellent levels of customer service. Be of smart appearance and hardworking (as part of an existing team). A flexible approach, reliability and discretion are equally as important.

This is a full-time post, working 5 days per week including split-shifts and weekends. A DBS check will be required.

Kitchen Porter

Catering department
Casual and Permanent Posts available

Opportunities are available for kitchen porters within our friendly catering team at Chatsworth.

You will ensure that a clean, hygienic environment is maintained in the kitchen by cleaning surfaces and maintaining order.    You will also provide an adequate supply of clean pans, crockery and cutlery.   Flexibility is essential in this role and you should be willing to help out in other areas of the catering department including assisting the chefs with basic food preparation.

You should be able to work quickly and efficiently, be self-motivated, with the ability to work well under pressure.  Ideally, you will have a food hygiene certificate with previous experience of working in a busy restaurant kitchen but this is not essential as full training will be provided. 

Permanent hours are 40 per week, 5 out of 7 days including weekends, with the occasional need for additional hours in busy periods - working March to December each year.  Casual hours are offered on an as and when required basis.

Receptionist
Maternity Cover

A full-time receptionist position is available from 1 March 2019 at the Cavendish Hotel, Baslow.

This is an important post, as you will often be the first person our customers meet, and your exemplary customer care standards will set the tone for the whole of the Hotel, ensuring our guests receive end to end first rate, friendly and efficient service.

Your duties will include; answering telephone calls, checking-in and out guests efficiently, processing guest administration, handling payment transactions, answering customer enquiries and ensuring public areas are presented to a high standard.

You will be an excellent communicator, a proficient IT user and have previous experience handling administration. Being organized and methodical in your approach to work, you will also be skilled at prioritising your workload to help respond to guest needs as efficiently as possible.

Experience of a hotel reservation system (such as Rezlynx or Resdiary), an awareness of industry standards and knowledge of the local area are all desirable.

This is a full-time position covering maternity leave and flexibility is essential to be able to work varied shifts that include weekends, bank holidays, early starts and late finishes; generally 7am to 3pm, or 3pm to 11pm.
