The Chatsworth Settlement Trust is looking for a new full-time Chief Executive to replace the present Chief Executive, who is retiring on 31 July 2018.

The Chatsworth Settlement Trust owns the Devonshire family’s principal interests including landed estates in Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Sussex. These, and associated interests, are referred to internally as the Devonshire Group, which includes a charity, the Chatsworth House Trust.

Personal Carer

A cheerful and kind personal carer is required to join a small team providing high quality, 24-hour care for an independent elderly lady on the Chatsworth estate. This is a permanent position, to start as soon as possible.

We have both day and night shifts available (waking nights) and can be flexible to meet your availability.

You will be responsible for overnight and daytime monitoring and assistance with personal care as required. This post will be ideal for a caring, patient, kind and active individual with a good sense of humour.

Previous experience and proof of training to provide personal care is essential but a nursing qualification is not necessary. Given the nature of the role, sensitivity and confidentiality are an absolute priority.

An excellent rate of pay is offered but please note this is not a live-in position.

Trainee Forester

University Placement Opportunity

Following on from our improvements within the Forestry department, we are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated forestry student, based on the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire. 

It is envisaged that this will be suitable for applicants studying a relevant degree and looking to obtain a work placement in order to further their learning.   

You will work under the instruction of our Forestry Manager in order to assist in delivering multipurpose forestry on a modern estate.

This is a one year position, commencing on 1 August 2018 and accompanied by a salary of £11,000 gross per annum - reasonably priced accommodation may be available on the Estate.

Hours of work are 40 per week, usually from 7:30am to 16:30pm, Monday to Friday, but some flexibility around these hours are expected.

Farmyard & Adventure Playground Assistant

Opportunities have arisen within the popular Farmyard and Adventure Playground at Chatsworth as shown below:

Two Full Time positions - working on a Rota basis 4 days on 2 days off - from 8.00am to 5.30pm.

The post is seasonal, working from April 2018 until early January 2019, when the farmyard & adventure playground closes for maintenance each year. 

Your duties will be varied and include: patrolling the adventure playground, communicating with children and parents and being mindful of safety issues; assisting with the general care of the animals and supervising animal handling.

You should be friendly, approachable and reliable, with good communication skills; able to deliver interesting demonstrations and talks to groups of people and school children on educational visits; happy working within a small team.  As duties vary across the site, you should be prepared to be flexible and comfortable working outside with large and small animals.

You must have a good awareness of health and safety practices. A current first aid certificate is desirable but not essential as training can be given. This position is subject to a DBS check.

A career opportunity has arisen for casual Commis Chefs with a passion for pastry to work within our friendly catering chef and bakery team at Chatsworth.

You will gain valuable experience assisting in the production of a diverse range of top quality pastry products and will learn the techniques to make all ranges of pastry including; short-crust, filo, choux pastry, flaky pastry and puff pastries.    The produce you make will be used in our afternoon teas, fine dining desserts and for special events.
