This role is a great opportunity for a fundraising professional with a proven track record of successful sponsorship generation to be involved at an exciting time, as Chatsworth continues along its programme of innovation and improvements.

You will manage a small team, lead and co-ordinate all fundraising activities, and develop strategies to maximise income from all potential sources, in particular from corporate sponsorship.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a sophisticated communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, and have an enterprising and strategic approach to income generation.

Your experience could have been gained in a visitor attraction, a museum, gallery or equivalent iconic institution.

Above all your ability to deliver growth will be evidenced in your excellent fundraising track record.

There is flexibility available on hours and days of work and some home working will be considered.

Part time Education Officer (1 year fixed term)

The Devonshire Educational Trust

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an education officer to scope, develop and deliver our new education programme at Bolton Abbey. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual who can work under their own initiative.

Bolton Abbey, the Yorkshire Estate of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, welcomes over 400,000 visitors each year.  With your help, our new education programme will focus on the varied and beautiful countryside on the estate including the historic ruins of Bolton Priory.

This interesting and varied role would suit a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational skills and a background in education, who can promote the educational offering of the estate, deal with enquiries, coordinate feedback and oversee the programme of educational events and projects. It is essential that you are a confident deliverer, have experience of working with a range of ages, and a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. Marketing and sales experience to schools and youth groups would be an advantage.

This is a 1 year fixed term post that will be working 15 hours week (preferably over three days). The post will be paid £20,000 pro rata. Flexibility in working hours is essential in this role with weekend working and start and finish times outside normal working hours very likely.

Estate Worker

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Domain team, responsible for estate management tasks across the park and amenity woodland surrounding Chatsworth.

This is very much an outdoor role, demanding a variety of skills to meet the requirements of the role, including dry stone walling and other boundary work; tree & grass maintenance; and footpath, road and waterway conservation. This work frequently requires the assistance of machinery including: strimmer’s, lawn mowers and hedge cutters as well as larger equipment.

Any previous experience of working in an estate with large grounds would be an advantage. A driving license is essential.

This is a physically demanding role, in which you will work both within a small team and alone, accessing all areas of the park.

This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 7:30 – 16:00.

Casual Kitchen Porters

Several interesting opportunities are currently available on a casual basis within our friendly catering kitchen team.

You will be involved with assisting in maintaining a hygienic environment in the kitchen, by working as part of a small team cleaning surfaces, pots, plans, crockery and cutlery. On occasion, you will also help out in other areas of the catering department, including assisting the chefs with basic food preparation.

No experience is necessary as full training will be provided, however, previous experience in a busy restaurant kitchen and a food hygiene certificate would be an advantage.

Casual Commis Chef

A full-time, permanent opportunity has arisen within our friendly catering team at Chatsworth.

This role provides the opportunity for you to gain experience in both the production of homemade food for our day visitors, and creative dishes for our fine dining customers within the rapidly expanding wedding and events business.

The role also offers the opportunity for significant personal development; assisting in and contributing to the delivery of food of the highest standard in all sections of the business.

Exemplary health, safety and hygiene practices are essential.

This is a seasonal permanent position working 40 hours per week, five days out of seven on a rota basis from late March to early January each year. Flexibility will be essential to meet the needs of the business; however, the majority of the work will be 9.00am-6:00pm.

Casual Customer Service Assistants

Catering department

We are looking for several new casual employees to work across the varied catering outlets at Chatsworth. With a varied and interesting workload and the opportunity to gain experience across our diverse range of establishments, the main focus of this role will be the delivery of a first-class customer service experience to visitors of the Chatsworth Estate.

Your duties will include: serving customers, working on the till, serving hot food & drinks, clearing tables and general cleaning and close-down duties. Working across a variety of catering locations including the self-service Carriage House Restaurant; Flying Childers restaurant; Food-to-Go outlets and the Cavendish Restaurant, you will be expected to greet customers and provide full table service following a full training program.

No previous catering experience is necessary as training will be provided, but to succeed in this position you will need to demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service, and the ability to work successfully as part of a small team. You will be a friendly, cheerful individual with the ability to adapt to changing situations.

Hours are offered on an ad hoc, as and when required basis.  You should have good availability for work, generally between the times of 9.00am and 6.00pm on weekdays and weekends.
