Chatsworth

Payroll Officer
1 Full-time post or 2 part-time posts

Are you an experienced payroll officer, looking to join a friendly Payroll & HR team?

You will be fully supported in your role as Payroll Officer at Chatsworth, working with an experienced payroll colleague and reporting to our HR Systems Manager.

You will help process up to 21 different payrolls for over 1500 employees and pensioners across various different Devonshire Group businesses each month. You will also enter and extract data from our database, run reports, and help answer employee queries.

To help you succeed in this role you will have an intermediate payroll or finance qualification such as CIPP or AAT, or equivalent experience. It would also be beneficial for you to have worked with CSV import routines and T&A systems, however, we can provide full training on these aspects if required.

Hours of work total 35 per week, from 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively, we can offer two part-time posts each working 21 hours per week, over 3 days.

Devonshire Group IT Support Technician

An additional support position has been created within the Devonshire Group IT department predominately based at Chatsworth, but working across all sites including Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire.

Being one of the ‘faces of IT’ across the group, you will work within a very close, friendly and supportive IT team. You will play an active role in the day-to-day work of the IT department, providing excellent customer service to IT users and suppliers. Taking the lead on some business applications, you will also be involved in projects across the Group.

The successful applicant for this exciting role will be able to demonstrate:
• Proven expertise on Windows 7 & 10 as well as IOS
• Proven experience of supporting EPOS, payment systems, networks and projects
• Knowledge of Helpdesk procedures and software
• Proven ability to quickly acquire and apply new skills in the use of IT
hardware and software
• A good record of providing a high level of customer service in IT
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Be an excellent communicator at all levels within the business

The successful candidate will be required to work on a rota basis within a shift pattern and with a need to work 5 over 7 days including Bank Holidays. As the role involves travel between the Devonshire Group, use of your own transport is essential.

Geographical Information Systems Officer

One of the Devonshire Group’s core values is ‘Always Improving’ and to help achieve this we have created a new role to assist with the development of a user friendly and engaging GIS system.

You will take the lead on developing and maintaining the Estates GIS systems and infrastructure. You will also support the creation of an Estate Terrier; dealing with tenancies, easements, wayleaves and the digitising of historic plans.

We understand the importance of your continuing professional development and we will support you in undertaking a drone flying qualification that will assist you in delivering the Estate’s mapping projects.

To succeed in this role you will be a self-starter, willing to put your GIS, and preferably your ArcGIS knowledge into practice to improve our current processes. Experience of writing and creating geosystems databases would be advantageous.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional travel across the Devonshire Group Estates will be required.

Temporary Development Assistant
Full-time, 2 month post

A full-time, temporary opportunity has become available in our Development department working from 1st May to 30th June 2019.

You will be responsible for organising VISAs, travel arrangements and accommodation for up to 12 employees who will be working at the joint Chatsworth and Sotheby’s Treasures of Chatsworth exhibition in New York. You will also help with the co-ordination of VIP events taking place in June at Chatsworth.

To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate an administration background, ideally with previous experience in booking and coordinating travel arrangements. You should be a problem solver, able to work on your own initiative and with a high attention to detail.

Commis Chef
Permanent Seasonal – working late March to early January each year

Are you happy to work to high standards and enjoy working as part of a small friendly team?  If so, we have the ideal opportunity for a Commis Chef to join our friendly catering team at Chatsworth based at the Carriage House Restaurant.

In this role you will have the opportunity to gain experience in both the production of homemade food for our day visitors, and creative dishes for our fine dining customers within the rapidly expanding wedding and events business.

The role also offers you the opportunity for significant personal development; assisting in and contributing to the delivery of food of the highest standard in all sections of the business.

Exemplary health, safety and hygiene practices are essential.

You will work 40 hours per week, five days out of seven on a rota basis from late March to early January each year.  Normal shift hours are 9am to 5.30pm with flexibility to meet the needs of the business.

Retail Customer Service Assistant
15 hours, Friday & Saturday

Would you like to join our friendly retail team based at the Orangery gift shop which sells items ranging from accessories, handbags and contemporary jewellery, to books and gifts suitable for all.

You will uphold our high standards of customer care by engaging with our customers and maintaining excellent product knowledge to help them with their purchases.

Working within a small, friendly team and your main duties will include; serving customers, stock control, administration checks, light cleaning, till work and helping in our other retail shops when required.

Whilst you will be given all the training you need to be excellent in this job, you should have excellent customer service skills. Experience of cash handling is beneficial.

Hours of work total 15 hours per week, from 10.00am to 6.00pm on a Friday and Saturday. Flexibility will be required, particularly at busy periods. This role is a maternity cover contract beginning in May 2019.

Food-to-Go

Customer service with a difference is what you will be providing in our highly rated food-to-go outlets at Chatsworth; offering top quality, pre-packed sandwiches and cakes and a good selection of hot pastries, hot and cold drinks, ice cream and snacks.
