How to book your group visit

  1. Call the booking office on +44 (0)1246 565430 to make a provisional booking and to enquire about any special requirements including catering.

  2. Complete and return the Group Booking Form, along with your catering cheque deposit if applicable, by email to visit@chatsworth.org or by post to the following address: Bookings Team, Chatsworth, Bakewell DE45 1PP

  3. Upon receipt of your booking form, arrangements will be made for your group and a letter of confirmation will be sent to you. If you have any catering requirements booked with us, the catering department will manage this part of your reservation from this point forward.

  4. Payment and confirmation of final numbers should be made on arrival when attraction tickets will be issued. Payment can be made by cash, card or cheque payable to ‘Chatsworth House Trust’.

We will be taking Christmas bookings from March 2019 and you will need to book a timeslot. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Terms and conditions

All group visits to Chatsworth must be pre-booked in advance to guarantee entry to the house and garden at the group rate, for parties of 15 or more people.

Hudson’s Heritage Explorer Passes cannot be used on group bookings.

Guided tours

All guided tours are subject to availability. Booking forms must be received no less than four weeks prior to the visit date in order for us to be able to offer a guided tour. Minimum tour charge applies to smaller groups.

If you have booked a guided tour, in the instance of arriving an hour or more late or not arriving at all, you will be charged an administration fee of £50 per 15 people. If a delay is anticipated, please contact the switchboard on +44 (0)1246 565300, but we cannot guarantee your guided tour will still take place.

Only Chatsworth Guides are permitted to offer guided house or garden tours. Groups are not permitted to conduct their own tours. If required, translators may translate the words of the Chatsworth guide.

Group dining

All group dining options are subject to availability. A private room for catering can be arranged for groups of 20 people or more, each room booked can accommodate a maximum of 56 people. We also offer meal vouchers for use in the Carriage House Café.

If you have booked catering as part of your visit, a non-refundable cheque deposit of £100 is required, made payable to ‘Chatsworth Estate Trading Limited to be returned with your booking form in order to secure the reservation.

Final numbers and dietary requirements will need to be taken two weeks in advance and this will be the number charged for.

In the instance of arriving an hour or more late or not arriving at all, you will be charged the full amount for the option booked. If a delay is anticipated, please contact the switchboard on +44 (0)1246 565300.

Estate farm shop stopover

If your group would like to visit our award-winning farm shop in Pilsley, please call +44 (0)1246 565411 to check availability as parking is very limited.

RHS Chatsworth

Entry to the RHS Chatsworth Flower show (5-9 June 2019) is not included in standard House and Garden entry. Tickets for this event must be purchased direct from the RHS.

Chatsworth Country Fair

All visits during the Chatsworth Country Fair (30 August to 1 September 2019) must include country fair admission if the group wishes to visit the house and garden on these dates.

Christmas and Christmas market

We will be taking Christmas bookings from March 2019 and you will need to book a timeslot. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Chatsworth Christmas market runs from 15 November to 3 December 2019. Visits must include house and garden admission for 15+ visitors. A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required for all Christmas weekend and Christmas market bookings. 

Each time slot allocated at Christmas can accommodate a maximum of 56 passengers.
