There is a second car park at the southern end of the park at Calton Lees (next to the Garden Centre) which is open all year round and is just over a mile walking distance from the house, garden, farmyard and adventure playground.

Parking is free for blue badge holders and pre-booked coaches.

Chatsworth is:

  • 16 miles from the M1, Junction 29, signposted via Chesterfield (follow the brown signs)
  • 8 miles north of Matlock, off the B6012
  • 42 miles from the M6, Junction 19
  • 30 minutes from Chesterfield railway station

There are some Golden Gates into Chatsworth by the roundabout at Baslow. Please note that these are for authorised access only except in the case of some special events. Please follow the brown signs to the public entrance to Chatsworth.

Arriving by Bus

There will be a temporary road closure on B6012 CHATSWORTH ROAD, ROWSLEY from 11 March - 22 March 2013 between 9.30am - 4pm and 6pm - 11pm. This means that during these times, the bus service to Chatsworth will unfortunately not be running.

There is an increasingly good bus service to Chatsworth and Baslow village.

The buses to Chatsworth stop outside the house and are a short walk from the house, garden and farmyard entrances.

Passengers arriving into Baslow village are able to access the park via a public footpath located opposite the Wheatsheaf Hotel. It is then a pleasant 2km walk to the House and attractions from here.
