Over ten years, we will double the benefit to local economies from our organisation.

In partnership with the University of Derby and with funding from Innovate UK, we developed a bespoke methodology for measuring our economic impact. These skills are now embedded within our organisation, and we are able to calculate and report on our economic impact on an annual basis.

Economic impact is measured using Gross Value Added: the combined value of direct and indirect goods and services. We also calculate the number of jobs directly and indirectly supported by the Devonshire Group’s operations.

In 2021/22, our economic impact stood at £224m supporting 3,338 jobs. The graph below shows this represents a strong increase since our baseline year, despite a significant drop in 2020/21. The wider economic impact of Covid-19 on our business was in the region of £56m – much of which will have been felt in the areas local to our operations.
