Join us for an autumnal wellness day focussing on herbs and fruits, learning how they can be used to enhance physical wellbeing through the winter.
About the session
There will be some foraging and gathering of ingredients for your winter medicine cabinets. You will learn to make a herbal tonic from hedgerow berries, garden herbs and kitchen spices and discover ways to use them for winter wellness. We will end the afternoon with a circle of reflection and thanks for all that nature has gifted us with. Please note the tonic will need caring for at home for a few weeks before straining and bottling for use.
We will explore the use of kitchen cupboard spices and make a traditional electuary from dried fruits and dried powdered herbs. These practical workshops will inspire you to focus upon sensory awareness to taste teas and tinctures. A day to connect to nature and get ready for the winter months.
Meeting point and refreshments
Please meet at the Stickyard at 9.50am for a 10am start.
The workshop includes a lunch prepared by the team at Chatsworth Farm Shop. This consists of a freshly made sandwich, a traybake, a piece of fruit, crisps and a drink. Tea and coffee is also provided. Please be aware our produce is made in an environment where all allergens are present. Please note any dietary requirements on your booking.
