Join us by the river Derwent for a dynamic outdoor flow yoga session.
About the session
Discover the serenity of flowing with nature and immerse yourself in the rhythmic movements inspired by the Chatsworth waterways. Cascade Flow Yoga takes place in the quiet of the riverside, overlooking Chatsworth. It is a chance for you connect mind, body, and spirit as you harmonize breath with movement, finding balance and rejuvenation in each part of the flowing sequence. You’ll experience the soothing power of nature's flow and leave feeling inspired by nature, refreshed and lightened.
Accessibility
This event takes place by the river Derwent. In the event of weather being too poor for the activity to take place, we will contact you to reschedule or refund your session.
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your own yoga mat, blankets and extra layers, socks and bottle of water. If you have any questions about accessibility please email [email protected].
Meeting point
Please meet at Queen Mary's Bower at 9.50am, ready for a 10am start. Queen Mary's Bower is the stone building visible on the left hand side as you cross the bridge into the Chatsworth car park. There is a short walk down the hill from the car park to the Bower.
About the instructor
Rebecca Lee Close is Canadian born, living in Sheffield with her children, dog, and husband. She has been teaching yoga since 2016 and practising for over 20 years.
As a former ship's captain, Rebecca found yoga as a way to practice self-care mentally and physically while away at sea. Rebecca's training is originally in Anusara based yoga which focuses on alignment principles. She has gone on to develop her teaching to include restorative, yin, pain-care, postnatal, mobility, and move-with-love practices.
Her classes are varied energy wise depending on who’s in attendance and what the overall focus is. They are always light-hearted, detail-oriented, and full of options to suit nearly all bodies
A Celebrating the Cascade event
Our new Celebrating the Cascade wellness sessions have been designed to delight and inspire you. We invite you to enjoy the calm and beauty of nature in the garden and wider landscape. Find balance as you step away from daily routines and pause with us by still and flowing waters. We invite you to open your heart and mind to the environment and connect with our wonderful surroundings.
The Celebrating the Cascade project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery Players, the project is working to restore the Cascade, safeguarding it for the enjoyment of future generations and enabling more people to get involved with Chatsworth.
If you would like to support this project, please make a donation to the Celebrating the Cascade project here.
