Caroline Cook from Well With Nature leads a mindful walk and Forest Bathing session in Stand Wood.
About the session
Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-yoku, is the ancient Japanese practice of spending time in the forest and soaking up its atmosphere.
Forest Bathing has been found to boost our immune system, reduce blood pressure, help with sleep and improve our mood. Caroline from Well With Nature will lead us through guided mindfulness and simple invitations to connect deeply with nature and the trees. There will be an opportunity for optional circle sharing about our observations and reflections.
Meeting Point
We will meet at the entrance to Stand Wood, opposite the Stickyard near the Farmyard. Please meet 15 minutes before the start of the session.
Please ensure you dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. You may want to bring something to sit on, e.g. a sit mat, kneeler or portable stool, and a bottle of water.
Accessibility
There is quite a steep walk up to Stand wood and some uphill sections through the woods. Time will be spend standing /sitting as well as a short walk.
Please email [email protected] if you have any questions about accessibility.

A Celebrating the Cascade event
Our new Celebrating the Cascade wellness sessions have been designed to delight and inspire you. We invite you to enjoy the calm and beauty of nature in the garden and wider landscape. Find balance as you step away from daily routines and pause with us by still and flowing waters. We invite you to open your heart and mind to the environment and connect with our wonderful surroundings.
The Celebrating the Cascade project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery Players, the project is working to restore the Cascade, safeguarding it for the enjoyment of future generations and enabling more people to get involved with Chatsworth.
