Join an expert from our Landscape team on a guided walking tour of Stand Wood, an area of woodland which was planted and developed as a backdrop to the house to hide the rocky escarpment that makes up Baslow edge.
Within the wood is a collection of native, non-native and more ornamental tree varieties, ranging from shrubs to American and Mediterranean giants. On our new 'get to know trees' tour, you'll have the opportunity to explore some of the more interesting and one off specimens.
You'll also have plenty of opportunities to speak to our Landscape team and ask questions about the tree collection, how they are managed, Stand Wood and its importance to the Chatsworth Estate.
The tour will take place whatever the weather so please dress appropriately. We recommend sturdy boots or wellies and warm wet weather clothes. The route includes some steep inclines and steps and walking along forest tracks with the potential for mud. Unsuitable for buggies or wheelchairs. Please meet at the top of Lodge Hill outside the entrance to the stables, under the clock tower.
