Discover the art of botanical lino printing in this full-day workshop.

About the session

Guided by artist Dianne Cooper, you’ll explore drawing and design techniques, learn how to prepare and carve lino, mark making techniques and experiment with printing methods.

You will have access to the Chatsworth cutting garden to pick fresh flowers to inspire your designs and by the end of the day you will have created an edition of beautiful botanical prints to share or keep.

No prior experience is necessary as our tutor will guide you through each step of the process. Suitable for ages 18 and above. Materials are provided but please bring your own apron.

Entry to the Chatsworth Garden is included for you to enjoy at your own pace after the workshop.

Meeting point and refreshments

Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9:50am for a 10am start.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

We'll break for lunch. Please bring a packed lunch, or you can purchase hot meals, soup, and sandwiches in The Carriage House Café.

Accessibility

The workshops will take place in the Old Potting Shed, which is a step-free, accessible venue located just inside the Chatsworth Garden. If you have any questions about accessibility or require an essential carer ticket, please email [email protected].

There is an incline into the cutting garden and some steps to get into the raised beds. A member of the team can assist when collecting flowers if you have mobility concerns. We will be spending some time in the cutting garden so recommend long trousers and no open toed shoes.

About the artist

This workshop is led by Diane Cooper, an art teacher of 18 years who now provides workshops for all ages here at Chatsworth and at her home studio. Diane is Fine Art trained and in her own practice she specializes in oil painting and printmaking using a range of processes.
