£95 per person | 9.30am to 3.00pm (please arrive for 9.20am)
Learn how to develop a range of drawing techniques and create new compositions inspired by seasonal colours and landscapes in the Chatsworth Garden.
No previous drawing experience is required, you’ll be carefully guided through each stage of the process.
The workshop will include getting to know your tools and learning effective techniques to use in location studies, opportunities to explore some areas of the garden and carry out observational drawings of seasonal flora and fauna and discuss and review your creations with your tutor and coursemates.
Our experienced tutor will be on hand throughout the day, to provide guidance and advice and answer any questions you may have.
All materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own drawing equipment if you wish.
The workshop will be based in our art studio - The Old Potting Shed (TOPS). Tickets include tea and coffee throughout the day and a delicious graze box picnic lunch provided by the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop – please note we will be in touch to confirm your dietary requirements.
Meet at the top garden gates near the Stables at 9.20am ready for a 9.30am start. Full schedule below. We will be outside whatever the weather so please wear suitable clothing. Participants must be 18+
Garden tickets are included so you can explore the grounds at your leisure after the workshop ends.

9.20am Meet at garden entrance (top gate) and make way to TOPS
9.30am Welcome and introduction
9.45am Get to know your tools: Try some effective drawing techniques, useful for location studies
10.30 Walk & draw: Explore colours in areas of the garden and carry out observational drawings of plants, flowers & trees
12.15 Lunch
13.00 Review drawings and use a range of techniques to create new compositions
14.45 Review and discussion of session outcomes
15.00 End of session
