Join us for a dedicated British Sign Language (BSL) tour of the house, led by art guide and BSL user, Martin Glover. 

This 1.5-hour tour is delivered entirely in BSL, with no spoken English. It is designed for Deaf visitors and BSL users only.

Martin will guide the group through key rooms and spaces, sharing insights into the history of the house, significant artworks and architectural features. The tour encourages shared exploration of the space. 

* Please note, the House of Stories: Tales from the Chatsworth Library exhibition will not be running on this date.

Meeting point

Please meet at the house, North Gates at 10.45am. The tour will leave promptly at 11am. Latecomers will not be admitted.

Important information and accessibility 

This event takes place in Chatsworth House. The route in the house includes some stairs, but there is a lift available. There will be periods of standing, but folding stools will be available.  

This tour is delivered entirely in BSL and is led by a BSL user. Group numbers are kept small to ensure clear sightlines and good visual access throughout. The tour includes pauses in well-lit areas to support comfortable viewing and communication. If you have any additional access needs, please get in touch ahead of your visit so we can support you fully.

Visitors with disabilities may bring an accompanying carer free of charge when paying for a full-price adult or child ticket. Supporting documents are required at the entrances. Learn more.

Assistance Dogs 

Assistance dogs are welcome in the house, garden, farmyard, playground, and park. 

Tickets  

The tour is included within the standard house entry price, with no additional cost. Your ticket also includes self-guided access to the garden, farmyard and adventure playground following the tour.
