Join the Dance Free team for a fun session of free movement and dance in the park beside the river Derwent.
These sessions are welcoming for all and you will be guided into your own dance comfort zone to feel happy, release worries and stresses and experience freedom. Silent disco headsets are provided for an immersive music experience. By dancing freely to music in nature, it is hoped that you will experience joy, a sense of calm and connecting to the body through the music.
The session starts with a short guide into the movement to help you to drop into your body and away from your thoughts. Then the session continues as free movement to music through a journey of ambient, euphoric and soulful beats in a mix of genres. There will be some water themes too for our Cascade project.
No prior experience is necessary. Please meet at Queen Mary's Bower in the park at 9.45am. Age 14+.
The Dance Free sessions involve gentle movement. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions about accessibility.

A Celebrating the Cascade event
Our new Celebrating the Cascade wellness sessions have been designed to delight and inspire you. We invite you to enjoy the calm and beauty of nature in the garden and wider landscape. Find balance as you step away from daily routines and pause with us by still and flowing waters. We invite you to open your heart and mind to the environment and connect with our wonderful surroundings.
The Celebrating the Cascade project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery Players, the project is working to restore the Cascade, safeguarding it for the enjoyment of future generations and enabling more people to get involved with Chatsworth.
If you would like to support this project, please make a donation to Chatsworth House Trust here.
