The Hartington Room at Chatsworth Stables
The Chatsworth Floristry team offer an insight into their work and inspiration, and how they adapt their styles and arrangements to suit evolving tastes, occasions, and sustainable practices.
You can also gather advice on how to create your own arrangements - whatever the season - using foraged materials.
Background to the talk
From medieval flower garlands to modern floral design, the use of flowers in British life has a long and beautiful history. At Chatsworth, this tradition continues through our talented team of florists, who draw inspiration from the estate’s gardens, rich heritage, and the surrounding Derbyshire landscape.
Working closely with Chatsworth’s flower growers and local sustainable suppliers, the team create stunning seasonal arrangements for the house, weddings, the wider estate, and for sale — from grand displays in historic rooms to natural, foraged designs that celebrate the changing seasons.
In a time of growing environmental awareness, the floristry team are leading the way in sustainable practice, using locally grown blooms and thoughtful design to reconnect people to nature.
Join us to discover how Chatsworth’s florists combine artistry, history, and sustainability to keep a centuries-old tradition alive.
