In partnership with Derbyshire Mind
Green Connections will create a retreat-type environment at Chatsworth designed to support your mental health and well-being by creating opportunities to experience the many benefits of getting outside, slowing down, and connecting with nature.
We can spend a lot of time lost in our thoughts, our worries, ‘to-do’ lists and plans for the future. Sometimes, it is difficult to be in the present, to appreciate the now, and focus on just ‘being’ – but nature can help you to do that.
This eco-therapy session focuses on ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing’ and invites you to embrace nature, and to feel nature encourage you to pause and be more aware of your environment. Nature can help you to feel part of something bigger than you. It can help you to feel calmer and more positive.
The session at Chatsworth has been designed to offer you a variety of different experiences including horticultural activities and ‘forest bathing’, we will also focus our time around the peaceful green and blue spaces available on the landscape.
This is one in a series of wellbeing events run in partnership with Derbyshire Mind. Tickets will be available from 23 April, find out more here.
About the session
The session will take place in the garden and the Old Potting Shed. As we will spend some time taking inspiration from the garden, walking in all weather, please wear suitable footwear and clothing.
The Old Potting Shed is a step free, accessible venue but please contact [email protected] if you have any questions about your specific needs.
Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.45am.

Wellbeing at Chatsworth in partnership with Derbyshire Mind
We are delighted to partner with Derbyshire Mind for these new Wellbeing at Chatsworth events, part of our Celebrating the Cascade fundraising campaign.
Derbyshire Mind is working in collaboration with Chatsworth’s Learning and Engagement team and offering six different events, one each month from May to October.
Each event is set within the beauty and calm of the garden and woodland and is focused on techniques to improve wellbeing and mood.
The public programme events for the Celebrating the Cascade have been subsidised to keep charges to a minimum.
A Celebrating the Cascade event
Our new Celebrating the Cascade wellness sessions have been designed to delight and inspire you. We invite you to enjoy the calm and beauty of nature in the garden and wider landscape. Find balance as you step away from daily routines and pause with us by still and flowing waters. We invite you to open your heart and mind to the environment and connect with our wonderful surroundings.
The Celebrating the Cascade project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery Players, the project is working to restore the Cascade, safeguarding it for the enjoyment of future generations and enabling more people to get involved with Chatsworth.
If you would like to support this project, please make a donation to Chatsworth House Trust here.
