Join us in the garden and the farmyard this summer and discover a range of activities that every member of the family can take part in, with a different theme each week.
Many of the activities are included in your entry ticket.
Get Active Week: Monday 18 - Sunday 24 August
Participate in the Garden Olympics, try balancing on natural equipment in the Pinetum, and enjoy sports day in the Farmyard.
Garden Olympics
When: Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20 & Thursday 21 August | All day

Free with all tickets that include the garden.
Sports Day
When: Monday 18 - 24 August | All day
Where: Picnic area in the Farmyard
Free with all tickets that include the farmyard.
Balance Play in the Pinetum
When: daily | all open season
Where: Pinetum in the Garden
Self guided. Free with all tickets that include the garden.
Young Farmers
When: Wednesday 20 & Friday 22 August | 1.30pm to 4.30pm
Where: Chatsworth Farmyard
Separate event ticket required, includes access to the Farmyard and Playground. View event.
Concerteenies Performances
When: Saturday 23, Sunday 24 & Monday 25 August | 11am, 1pm & 3pm
Where: Rose Garden & Flora's Temple in the Garden

In the farmyard you can meet our friendly animals, from pigs and horses to mischievous goats and guinea pigs, many of whom you can feed, pet or even cuddle.
In the playground, climb our tall towers for a bird's eye view, descend at speed on our racing slides, scramble across the wood tangle, zip on the zip wire, dig in the giant sand pit or use an Archimedes screw to fetch water from the stream...there are hours of adventures in store.

Guinea pig handling | Daily: 11.00am, 2pm & 3.30pm
Goat milking demonstration | Daily: 2.30pm
Cow milking demonstration | Daily: 3.30pm
Tractor and trailer rides* | Daily (Saturday 19 July - Friday 22 August only) *excluding Monday 4 August and Wednesday 20 August
* The tractor and trailer ride is an additional fee of £3.50 per person; please check timings on arrival.
