Event details
Saturday 11 October | 10am to 4pm
£125 per person, includes materials, lunch and garden entry
Immerse yourself in the vibrant colours and textures of the autumn harvest in this seasonal watercolour workshop. Join Peak District Artisan Pam Smart for a creative session where we'll explore the art of painting still life autumnal harvest produce, selected from the Chatsworth garden.
Pam will offer an introduction to the materials and techniques we'll be using to capture the beauty of squashes, pumpkins and other harvest favourites in a still life painting.
Pen and wash is a simple technique to master and even beginners can feel confident in creating a unique and vibrant piece of work. Professional artists’ materials will be provided but feel free to bring along your favourite watercolour brushes if you have them. Please also provide your own apron.
Venue and refreshments
The workshop takes place in our garden learning centre, the Old Potting Shed, which is step free and accessible.
The day includes tea, coffee and a delicious lunch prepared by the team at Chatsworth Farm Shop. This consists of a freshly made sandwich, a traybake, a piece of fruit, crisps and a drink. Please be aware our produce is made in an environment where all allergens are present. Please note any dietary requirements during checkout.
Please meet at the top garden gates at 9.50am for a 10am start.
About the artist
Working from her studio in the beautiful Peak District, Pam takes inspiration from the natural and built environment, painting flowers, landscapes and architecture in striking colours. Pam has created a vibrant body of work, often graphic in style, combining elements of pattern and decoration with a vibrant colour palette. Pam graduated with a BA Hons in Graphic Design and two prestigious awards from the Royal Society of Arts. After receiving a travel bursary Pam set out on a seven month journey of discovery around India where her love of colour and pattern was indulged and saturated.
