Autumnal watercolours: painting the harvest with Pam Smart
Wednesday 18 October | 10am to 4pm
£125 per person
Includes garden entry and a farm shop lunch
Join Peak District Artisan Pam Smart for a creative session where we'll explore the art of painting still life autumnal harvest produce, selected from the Chatsworth Garden.
The workshop begins with the opportunity to hear how the production garden team manage the autumnal crops, in a short talk from one of our gardening team. From there, Pam will offer an introduction to the materials and techniques we'll be using to capture the beauty of squashes, pumpkins and other harvest favourites in a still life painting.
Pen and wash is a simple technique to master and even beginners can feel confident in creating a unique and vibrant piece of work. Professional artists’ materials will be provided but feel free to bring along your favourite watercolour brushes if you have them. Please also provide your own apron.
The day includes tea, coffee and a delicious locally sourced graze box lunch from the Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop.
This workshop will take place in our art studio space in the garden. The garden is accessible but there may be some inclines. Please contact education@chatsworth.org if you have any specific access requirements.
Meet at 9.50am at the top garden gates (near the Stables) ready for a 10am start.
