Queer pop duo Nimmo have been best friends since childhood. Hailing from London and infamous for walking out of a record deal with Sony in 2015 just after graduating, they independently released their 2019 debut album POWER, critically received for its “raw-edged soul nestling up alongside crisp and skittering garage-style beats” (NME). Their DIY ethos rooted in a belief in community and collaboration underpins all their creative outputs from music to curating events. The first artists chosen by clothing brand VANS to curate a sell-out show at House of Vans in London (2018). This year Vogue Magazine selected them as some of pop's most influential new stars with a feature on the role of LGBTQ+ visibility in the mainstream. Combining punk roots with a strong influence from the mid-90's euphoria of their childhoods, Nimmo’s music reflects a nocturnal escapism. Their approach and the result of it is something that is vital, bold and confronting.
