10am - 4pm | £100 per person

Develop your confidence in drawing botanical art in this full-day workshop.

About the session

Join experienced facilitator Kerry Fernandez in this beginner-friendly workshop, designed for those who have basic drawing experience, or who attended our Beginner’s Botanical Drawing event.

Through a series of exercises, you’ll explore ways to refine your line work, apply measuring techniques and experiment with expressive mark-making. Colour, mixed media and a selection of other materials including pencils, pens, watercolour crayons and brushes will also be explored.

You will be encouraged to draw a selection of flowers from observation, recording texture, tone and colour. Throughout the day, you will create a range of botanical studies in both colour and black & white.

Materials

All equipment and materials will be provided. However, you are welcome to bring your own sketchbook (recommended size A4 or smaller, spiral bound, with good quality cartridge paper of at least 160gsm).

Refreshments

Tea and coffee will be provided.

We will break for lunch, so please bring a packed lunch. The Carriage House Café will be open for hot meals, soup, and sandwiches.

Meeting Point

Please meet at 9.50am at the top garden gate next to the Stables for a prompt start at 10am.

Accessibility

The Old Potting Shed is fully accessible, including an accessible toilet.

There may be time spent in the Chatsworth Garden carrying out drawing studies, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather.

If you have any questions about accessibility or require a carer ticket, please email [email protected]
