Event details

Saturday 27 July | 10am to 3.30pm

£100 per person

In this one-day bookbinding workshop, you will have the opportunity to create and bind your own hardback notebook. This workshop is specifically designed for people with little experience in bookbinding, as you will receive guidance through each stage of the binding and covering process.

Under the instruction of an experienced tutor and book artist, you will learn the techniques involved in creating a hardback notebook. All materials will be provided, and you will be taught how to construct an A5 hardback notebook using the French sewn technique.

No previous experience is required, as you will receive comprehensive guidance throughout the process.

This session includes tea, coffee, and a delicious locally sourced lunch from the farm shop, along with complimentary tickets for the Chatsworth garden.

The workshop will be held at our garden learning centre, the Old Potting Shed. Please gather at the top garden gates 10 minutes before the session begins. The Old Potting Shed is a step free, accessible venue.

About the Artist

This workshop is run by Paperbased, led by experienced paper artist Kim Bevan. Kim provides workshops for all ages here at Chatsworth and in her own studio. In her own practice she makes artist books which explore 3D sculptural folding techniques, and she creates unique artwork using paper cutting and printmaking.
