Event Details

Sunday 3 May 2026

10am to 4pm | £95 per person

Suitable for beginners, learn how to mono print using natural materials, or develop your printmaking skills further.

About the workshop

Explore mono printing, and learn how to print both positive and negative impressions from natural materials such as flowers, leaves and fern. You will explore colour mixing, shape, texture, layering and composition, and also be shown how to add abstract elements to your prints using cut stencils and relief printing techniques.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as those who want to further develop their printmaking and composition skills. You will create a wide range of small prints and will also have the chance to consolidate your learning and produce a larger final print.

All materials and equipment will be provided but please feel free to bring along a selection of natural materials from your own garden.

You may like to bring an apron to protect your clothes.

Meeting point and refreshments

Please meet at the top garden gates (near the Stables) at 9.50am for a prompt 10am start.

Tickets include tea and coffee throughout the session, please bring a packed lunch or use our onsite cafes.

Accessibility

The Old Potting Shed (our base for each session) is a step-free, accessible venue with an accessible toilet.

The workshop is suitable for all abilities; however, it does require manual dexterity.

If you have any questions about your specific needs or require a carer ticket, please email [email protected]

About the tutor

This workshop is led by Diane Cooper from Workshop 57. Diane is an experienced art teacher with over 20 years of experience, with a degree in Fine Art (painting) but her love of printmaking has now taken over.

Diane offers workshops across various venues and locations, and in her home studio in Sheffield. Diane is passionate about both art and teaching and loves passing on her enthusiasm for all things print.
