Available for hire in the north entrance hall | £3.50
Our easy-to-use tablet-style multi-media guide features exclusive audio and film content designed to deepen your understanding of Chatsworth House, its history, people, art, and historic treasures.
Varied and insightful, the guide includes extracts featuring visitor, curatorial, and collections team members. You can listen to conversations about portraiture between our archivist and head of learning; hear our decorative arts curator reveal the fascinating origin of the panelling in the oak room; watch an example of the style of weaving that would have been used to make the celebrated Mortlake Tapestries and much more.
All of the content is in a menu format so you can choose to learn more about the items that interest you the most.
The guide is available for hire on arrival at the house, with all proceeds benefitting The Chatsworth House Trust. Headphones are loaned with the guide, however, you are welcome to bring your own.

A house & garden, or house, garden & farmyard ticket is required to hire the multi-media guide. Multi-media guides can be left at the collection point in the Sculpture Gallery at the end of your house visit.
Accessibility
The multi-media guide volume is adjustable and each piece of content has a written transcript you can read if you prefer. The headphones loaned with the guide are designed to sit on the outside of hearing aids (no t-function setting).
The guide is accessed via a handheld device similar to a tablet and is touch-screen, allowing you to expand images to see greater detail if desired.
