Entry to the house is by timed ticket. We recommend purchasing house tickets in advance to guarantee your preferred time slot and benefit from free parking. Same day tickets are often available online. House tickets can be purchased on arrival but timed entry will be allocated according to availability on the day.

There is no pass out/re-entry; once visitors have left the house, they will not be able to return without a new booking.

About the house

Chatsworth House is renowned for the quality of its art, landscape and hospitality, and it has evolved through the centuries to reflect the tastes, passions and interests of succeeding generations.

Today, Chatsworth contains works of art that span 4,000 years, from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculpture, and masterpieces by Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese, to work by outstanding modern artists, including Lucian Freud, Edmund de Waal and David Nash.

There are over 25 rooms to explore*, from the magnificent Painted Hall, regal State Rooms, restored Sketch Galleries and beautiful Sculpture Gallery.

*Select rooms on the upper floor of the house will be closed for annual conservation during Christmas at Chatsworth.

Important information

Please note that we do not allow prams, pushchairs or rucksack style baby carriers in the house; side and front baby carriers are welcome.

Please also note that we only allow small bags in the house. Storage is available in the left luggage room near the house entrance.
