Accessibility: These routes aren't pram or wheelchair friendly. Steep ascent and descent can be along muddy paths. Rocky and uneven underfoot in places.
Facilities: Nearby public toilets can be found by the entrance to Chatsworth House. For food options, visit the Carriage House Café or the Cavendish restaurant in the Stables. Along the routes, Edensor Tea Room and Chatsworth Garden Centre have food and toilet facilities.
Car parking: The Calton Lees car park is located at the southern end of the park.

The car park is open from 9am to 6pm and fees are either £7.50 or £10 for a standard vehicle per day, depending on the season.
The Routes
There are two circular routes from Calton Lees car park, both of which are shown on the park walks map (PDF, 227Kb).
Walk 1: circular walk to Calton Hollow
3km or 2.25 miles
Allow 1.5 hours

Start: Calton Lees car park, DE4 2NX
Leave the car park at the bottom right-hand corner.
Follow the lane past the garden centre towards Calton Lees.
Where the lane takes a sharp left, follow the track ahead.
Go through the gate (public bridleway sign) up the hill.
Just past the houses at the top, turn right through a gate.
Follow the grassy bank at the top and cross the pasture to the left of the hay barn.
Go through the gate in the wall.
Follow the track through the wood to the gate into the park.
Turn right and follow the park wall to the small gate into the car park.
Walk 2: circular walk to Edensor

Leave the car park through the gate at the top right-hand corner.
Turn left along the park wall, follow it up the hill until you reach a track with a gate across it.
Turn right across the park, following the marked path towards the church spire.
Keep the churchyard to your right and follow the path to a small iron gate in a wall and some steps.
Turn right through the village.
Leave Edensor through the blue gates in front of the village green.
Cross the road to join the path that goes over the hill to Chatsworth House.
Cross the drive, but not the river, and turn right along the bank of the river.
At the ruined mill, turn right up the hill to the gates on the road by the car park.
